I gazed at it ….gazed…..unblinkingly…..longingly…..in awe....in wonderment.....even as the wind ruthlessly stung my eyes…..till they watered..….I gazed…

I absorbed the beauty…..I witnessed the mystical purity…….I withheld the magnanimity ……I bowed with silent respect, humbled by the immense aura it exuded…an aura of royalty….aura of pride……an aura of romance….

It stood so still and innocent…..as the soft moonlight defined a virgin path of millions of miniscule, dancing crystals on the sparkling surface of the water that separated us……it stood proud as the snow white purity gently lapped over it's graceful body …..it constantly blinked in and out of sight mysteriously, arousing my wonder....holding my attention...

The rich black sky sprawled expansively above me…...protecting me.....enticing me.....and as I looked up to fathom it’s breathtaking beauty, the stars seemed to shine even brighter as if they were energized by the exclusive attention they received….and deserved…

Both entities seemed to compete to look more exquisite than the other but, together they created the most unrivalled, matchless sight….it was the perfect harmony of the night, the spectacular dark sea, the clear deep skies, the solitary moon, the temple of God,the stars, the cool breeze, the solitude, the silence……and me...

My heart soared and touched the zenith of happiness…I was at peace…..

I silently wished he was beside me to see it all…..to witness the powerful, fierce, yet serene beauty……to share that moment with me……

But no matter how hard I try I could never describe in just words, what it felt like being there..…at haji ali at 2 in the morning……
